Your family network is a private, closed group that connects the people who matter most. Only members you invite can appear on the home screen or make calls through the app — no strangers can contact your loved one. You control exactly who is in the network and can make changes at any time.
All calls and data within your family network are end-to-end encrypted. No one outside your network can see or join your conversations.

What is a family network?

A family network is a private group linked to a single Nonna account. Family members you invite each get their own login, and their photo appears on the home screen of your loved one’s device. When they tap that photo, a call starts immediately. You can have multiple family members in one network — for example, children, grandchildren, and close friends can all be added and appear as contacts.

Invite a new family member

1

Open the Family Network screen

In the Nonna app, tap Family Network in the app menu to open the network management screen.
2

Tap Invite member

Tap the Invite member button. Nonna generates a unique invite link or code for you to share.
3

Share the invite

Send the invite link by text message, email, or any messaging app. The link is personal to your network — only share it with people you trust.
4

They accept the invite

When the recipient taps the link, they are prompted to download Nonna (if they have not already) and create their account. Once they accept, they join your network automatically.
5

Add their photo and name

After they join, go to their contact in your Family Network screen and tap Edit to add a photo and confirm their display name. Their photo will appear on the home screen.
Choose a clear, close-up photo for each contact. A well-lit face photo makes it easy to recognise who to tap — especially on smaller screens.

Who can start a call?

Any member of the family network can initiate a call to the primary user (the person with the home screen). The primary user taps a contact photo to call out. This keeps calling simple and intuitive for elderly users while letting family members reach them directly.

Network privacy and security

  • Closed network — only people with a valid invite link can join
  • End-to-end encrypted — calls and messages cannot be intercepted
  • No public directory — your loved one’s contact details are not visible to anyone outside the network
  • You stay in control — you can remove any member at any time

Managing contacts

Go to Family Network, tap the contact’s name, then tap Edit. Tap their current photo (or the placeholder) to choose a new image from your device’s photo library. Save the change and their updated photo will appear on the home screen.
Go to Family Network, tap the contact’s name, then tap Edit. Update the name in the display name field and tap Save. The new name appears below their photo on the home screen.
There is no set limit on the number of family members you can add. Add as many contacts as your family needs — all of them can appear on the home screen and make calls.
Yes. In Family Network, press and hold a contact, then drag them to the position you want. The home screen updates immediately to reflect the new order.
Go to Family Network, tap the contact’s name, then tap Remove from network. Confirm when prompted. Their photo is removed from the home screen and they can no longer make or receive calls through your network. This action cannot be undone, but you can re-invite them at any time.
Remove them from the network straight away using the steps above to prevent any unintended calls. Once they have a new device, send them a fresh invite link so they can rejoin.
